Crystal with a large, architectural cut The shades are traditional clear crystal with large faceting. The distinction matters: a fine cut scatters light into hundreds of tiny reflections and produces a "sparkle", whereas large facets break light into a few distinct, sharp patches that travel across the wall as the viewer moves. In practice that means a fitting with strong character after dark – but also one that draws reflections onto ceiling and walls. Over a dining table that is the intention; in a low room with a pale ceiling it is worth anticipating. Art deco in a contemporary reading The manufacturer places the Flare series in the Neoclassic collection and describes its intent as combining two moods: the festive, elegant atmosphere of art deco and a bold, contemporary spirit.
