A frame instead of a shadeThe series name is not accidental. FRAME is a rectangular frame measuring 48 x 31 cm and just 7.7 cm deep, holding two round shades 8 cm across and 4 cm tall. The frame does not shield the light — it frames it, drawing a geometric figure on the ceiling in which only two points glow.The practical consequence: at 7.7 cm the fitting barely descends from the ceiling, which matters in rooms of standard height and over a worktop, where a conventional ceiling light would enter the field of view. GX53 — why this particular baseThe fitting takes two GX53 lamps of max 12 W LED each. GX53 is a flat, disc-shaped base 53 mm across — the lamp is a puck barely more than a centimetre tall, which is what lets it fit inside a 4 cm shade. With GU10 or E27 the whole fitting would have to be much deeper and would lose its main advantage.Lamps are not included. That is an advantage: you choose the colour and output. Two 12 W lamps give roughly 1600–2000 lm in total — enough for a room of 12–16 m² or a zone above a table. For a kitchen and worktop 4000 K is the natural choice, for a bedroom or living room 2700–3000 K. The height is not adjustable (this is a flush fitting, not a pendant), and split switching — the ability to turn the lamps on separately — is not provided: both points come on together. That lets you pair a two-lamp fitting over the table with a single-lamp one in the hallway, keeping the same geometry. Things to bear in mindIP20 restricts use to dry rooms — the fitting is not suitable for a bathroom shower zone. The manufacturer's warranty is 4 years, two more than the usual two for decorative lighting.
