BALLI-2 is a pendant from the Polish maker Hellux: two oak spheres hung on black cords beneath a shared wooden bar. The whole composition drops 90 cm from the ceiling, and the two spheres hang on separate cords so they can be set at different heights. Solid oak, not veneer The shades and the ceiling bar are made from oak finished with an oil that protects the surface and brings out the grain. Oak is a functional choice here, not only an aesthetic one — it is among the harder timbers used in furniture, so the sphere will not distort or crack from the heat of a bulb. Every piece has a different grain pattern, because the wood is not a printed decor. Two GU10 points The lamp has two independent light points with GU10 holders; the manufacturer quotes a maximum of 60 W. No bulbs are supplied, so you choose the colour and output yourself — a pair of 5–7 W GU10 LEDs will give light over a table comparable to an old 60 W incandescent, at a fraction of the draw. Because the spheres aim the flux downward, the light lands on the table and does not dazzle people sitting opposite. Over a table, not for a child's room Hellux recommends this lamp for a living room, dining room and bedroom — it is a fitting for a table or an island, not general room lighting. The narrow, concentrated distribution is its strength over a table and its weakness as the only source in a room: it barely brightens the rest of the space. Two spheres on one bar suit a rectangular table; over a round one it is worth considering the single- or three-point version from the same BALLI family. Adjustment and installation The cords are long and can be shortened during installation, so the hanging height is matched to the room and to how low the lamp should sit above the tabletop. Supply is 230 V and the IP20 rating means dry interiors only. The manufacturer is based in Kuniów near Kluczbork and makes the lamp in Poland.
