ARLOM is a round coffee table 80 cm across and 32 cm high. The cream-white top has a distinctly rounded edge and rests on a wooden base built from two intersecting, gently arched panels — the piece reads differently from every side, and despite its real mass it looks light.The microcement topThe top is finished in microcement applied in seven layers. The technique comes from floor and wall finishing: successive thin coats are trowelled on by hand, which gives the surface a matte, faintly mineral depth that a lacquered panel cannot match. The side effect is toughness — a multi-layer structure takes daily use far better than a single decorative coat.Looking after itThe surface is sealed so that brief contact with liquid does not stain immediately — spilled coffee or water will not ruin the top if you wipe it up within a reasonable time. It is not indestructible, though. A soft, damp cloth is all that cleaning needs. Avoid sharp objects that could scratch the outer layer, and do not stand very hot vessels directly on the top — high temperature damages the protective coating. A trivet under the hot pot is the whole of the care required.The baseThe load-bearing part is made of MDF faced with ash veneer, finished in a warm oak tone. The visible grain pattern is genuine — real wood, not a print. The intersecting-panel construction gives a wide footprint, so the table stays steady even when you lean on the edge of the top. At 20 kg it will not skate across the floor by accident.Pairing itARLOM belongs to a family that also includes the ARLOM II dining table — both repeat the same motif of a cream top on a wooden base, so in an open-plan living and dining space they read as a set.
