The Zambelis 20201 set pairs a two-metre aluminium LED channel with a two-metre opal polycarbonate cover. The profile turns a bare LED strip into a finished part of the installation: it hides the individual diodes, protects them from dust and knocks, and gives you an even line of light instead of a row of glowing dots. Cross-section and which strip fits The channel measures 17.5 mm wide and 8 mm high, with a 12.2 mm bed for the strip. In practice that accepts any common tape up to 12.2 mm wide - the great majority of 8 mm and 10 mm strips, and the wider COB versions too. Check your strip before ordering: anything wider than 12.2 mm will not go in, anything narrower will simply sit loose on the floor of the channel. Each length is 2 metres, and at 8 mm tall the profile stays discreet even on a wall in plain view. An opal cover instead of a dotted line The two-metre polycarbonate cover supplied in the set is the opal, milky version. It slides into the grooves along the full length of the profile. Opal diffuses the diodes so the visible dots disappear and the line reads as continuous. The cost is a few percent of the luminous flux held back by the milky material - the standard trade-off with any opal diffuser. Surface mounting Zambelis classifies 20201 as a surface profile: it is glued or screwed onto a finished surface, with no routed groove and nothing recessed into the board. The flat underside rests on the substrate along its whole length, so the channel can run across a ceiling, under a shelf, along a plinth or in the corner of a cabinet. The aluminium body carries heat away from the strip - the basic reason LED channels are made of metal rather than plastic, and why a strip inside a profile outlives one stuck straight onto furniture board. End caps and clips are a separate set Mounting accessories are sold separately under code 20201-E: that set holds end caps in both the cable-entry and closed versions plus mounting clips. If you intend to fix the profile with clips or to close off the ends, order that set as well - the 20201 box contains only the channel and its cover. Where it is used Under kitchen cabinets, in a suspended ceiling, in shelving and display cases, under a worktop, along a mirror, in a skirting board and as stair lighting. A 17.5 x 8 mm section is among the smallest available, so the profile works where a larger channel would read as a bulky add-on. The set is intended for indoor, dry locations.
