ALIKI is a recessed downlight 9.6 cm across, with a white bezel in RAL 9016 and an aluminium body. The reflector sits on a joint and tilts by 20°, so the light can be aimed at a wall or a chosen part of the room instead of falling straight down only. The cut-out it needs and the space above the ceiling The manufacturer specifies a mounting hole 8.3 cm in diameter; the visible bezel measures 9.6 cm and covers the edge of the cut-out. Recess depth is 4.5 cm — a figure to compare with the space left above a suspended ceiling board. The fitting weighs 0.29 kg and is held in the opening by spring clips. The manufacturer allows installation directly in insulation, so the fitting does not have to be kept clear of the wool or boxed in. How much light it gives and of what kind The built-in LED module draws 8 W and delivers 600 lm at 2700 K, a warm, slightly yellow light close to a traditional bulb. The beam angle is 38°, so one fitting lights a section of the room — larger rooms are covered by spreading several downlights across the ceiling. Colour rendering is Ra 90, which shows where colours have to be read correctly: at a mirror and above a worktop. The light source is dimmable and works with a wall dimmer, though the dimmer itself has to be present in the circuit. Driver, cable and installation conditions A driver comes in the box, connected to the fitting by a 24 cm cable, so no extra hardware is needed to put it into service. Neither the cable nor the LED module can be replaced — the manufacturer states a source lifetime of 40,000 hours, after which the whole fitting is changed. IP44 covers protection against splashing water, which is why the manufacturer also intends ALIKI for the bathroom. The fitting is class II and needs no earth connection, and several units can be wired in parallel on one circuit.
