ALAS 2007 is a three-light bar pendant – a format conceived for a rectangular table. The flat black ceiling bar, 60 cm long, is not ornament but structure: it spreads three independent drops evenly along the tabletop instead of concentrating all the light in one point at the centre. Form Each of the three black cables carries the same module: a black lampholder sleeve, a decorative sphere and, below it, a narrow polished tube in gold. The pairing of matt black with gleaming gold is the whole idea here – the gold cylinders are the only glossy element and take the eye, while the rest of the structure recedes against the ceiling. How it lights Each tube takes one GU10 lamp and aims its light steeply downwards, like a small spotlight. This is directional output, not diffuse: over a table it lights the surface and the place settings above all, leaving the rest of the room in shadow until another source is added. The manufacturer permits lamps up to 14 W per point – more than a typical GU10 LED needs, so the choice of output stays with you. Lamps are not supplied and are replaceable, which means the colour temperature can be changed later without changing the fitting. Installation and dimensions The bar is 60 cm long and only 6 cm deep, so the fitting does not build down from the ceiling. Full drop is 120 cm; the cables are shortened at installation to the length required – over a dining table, usually so the bottom of the tubes sits about 70–80 cm above the surface.
