DOMINO pendant lamp – a glass cone on a rigid stem DOMINO is a single-light pendant from the Polish brand JUPITER, built from three clearly separated elements: a black ceiling rose and rigid rod, a wood-toned collar, and an opal glass shade shaped as a cone widening downwards. The whole fitting is 80 cm tall and 23 cm across at its widest. A rigid rod instead of a cable This is one of the fitting's most important properties, though rarely written down. The suspension is a rigid black rod, not a fabric cable — the lamp does not swing and hangs exactly vertical, even where it is placed over a walkway or near a window. The height is fixed at the same time, so 80 cm is a figure to reckon with at the planning stage: over a dining table it usually puts the lower edge of the shade at roughly eye level for someone standing. Opal glass and a wooden accent The shade is made of glass with a strongly diffusing opal structure. A lit fitting therefore shows neither the bulb nor its reflection — the whole cone turns into one soft, even patch of light with no hard shadows on the surface below. The upper collar is kept in a warm wood tone that breaks the black of the suspension and ties the lamp to wooden furniture; the manufacturer lists steel and glass as the materials, so the wood shade is a finish rather than solid timber. One E27 socket, 15 W maximum The fitting has a single E27 lampholder with a 15 W ceiling per lamp. That limit is set for LED bulbs — a classic 60 W incandescent should not be used. The light source is not included, but the manufacturer confirms it is replaceable, so the lamp does not become useless once the first bulb is spent. Because the glass is opal, the shape of the bulb makes no difference — only its colour and output do. For a dining room a 2700–3000 K source of 800–1000 lm works best. Installation and specification The lamp runs straight off 230 V mains, is rated IP20 and is intended for dry interiors only. It weighs 1.43 kg, so mounting calls for no special anchors — a standard ceiling box is enough. JUPITER covers the fitting with a 5-year warranty, longer than the two years usual in this segment.
