ILONA is a single pendant in amber transparent glass, 22 cm across, on a black cord and a round black ceiling plate Ø 12 cm. Height is adjustable from 70 to 173 cm. The colour is amber, not black The manufacturer gives this version's leading colour as Amber and black only as the accent colour — the ceiling plate, cord and lampholder are black, while the shade is amber transparent glass, tinted right through: identical inside and out. The /62 suffix in Lucide's article number denotes amber (the black ILONA versions end in /99). The practical consequence: the glass changes the colour of the light. Even a neutral bulb turns warm and honeyed after passing through amber, and the wall behind the lamp picks up that warmth. That is the point of the fitting, but it matters if the room is supposed to hold one consistent light colour across several sources. The bulb is part of the design The shade is transparent, so the bulb is visible and is a design element — an empty holder or a plain opal globe spoils the effect. Lucide names the recommended source outright: 49042/05/62, its own A60 filament LED, Ø 6 cm, E27, 4.9 W, 2200 K, amber and dimmable. The product photograph shows exactly that spiral filament. The bulb is not included. Socket E27, maximum power 40 W. Dimmable: yes — but only through the bulb. The fitting has no gear of its own, so both the dimmer and the lamp must be dimming-capable. The recommended 49042/05/62 is. The light is diffuse and all-round — this is not a directional fitting and will not replace task light over a worktop. Height — adjustable, but before installation The 70–173 cm range is nearly a metre of freedom, but Lucide notes the adjustment is made before installation — the cord is shortened once, at connection, not re-set later. Choose the drop in advance: over a table or island: 70–85 cm from the surface to the bottom of the shade, in a circulation route: the bottom edge no lower than about 210 cm above the floor, with a 260 cm ceiling and the full 173 cm drop the shade ends roughly 87 cm above the floor — table height, so the full length is intended only for hanging over a surface. Construction and installation Shade: glass in an oval bell shape, Ø 22 cm both at the top and at the bottom; transparent finish, spray painted. Mounting plate: metal, 12 × 12 × 2.5 cm; the visible rose is round, Ø 12 cm, black. Electrical class I — an earth conductor is required. That is unusual among decorative glass pendants and a condition to check in the ceiling box before buying. IP20 — dry interiors only. Over a kitchen island yes; over a sink or in a bathroom no. Installation materials are included. 230 V supply, no plug — hard-wired. Weight 1.9 kg. The ILONA family and spare parts The same form comes as a pendant in Ø 18 cm (45408/18/62) and Ø 30 cm (45408/30/62), as a floor lamp 45708/01/62, and in multi-light versions on a black bar — 45408/13/99 (3 × E27) and 45408/15/99 (5 × E27). Mixing the 18 / 22 / 30 cm diameters in one row above a table is a typical use of this collection. Important with glass: Lucide sells the shade on its own as a spare part (article 92/45408/62).
