CAMELEON FOURTY S 11217 is a shade for the Nowodvorski Cameleon system — a narrow steel tube 4 cm across and 12.3 cm tall, lacquered in Silky Graphite P027 RAL 7022. The shade on its own has neither a lampholder nor a lead: the manufacturer lists zero light points for it, because the lamp sits in a separate part of the system. What is in the box and what to buy alongside The packaging holds two things: the shade and the instruction sheet. To hang it from the ceiling you also need the CAMELEON CABLE GU10 — that carries the holder and the supply, and the shade screws onto it. One shade goes on one cable. No lamp is included either. The manufacturer permits only LED lamps of up to 10 W in this shade, so a GU10 halogen — although it fits mechanically — is ruled out. You choose the light colour when you buy the lamp. How much room it takes and how it lights The tube is 4 cm across and 12.3 cm long and weighs 160 g, so a single shade on a cable is a point element rather than a dominant shape over a worktop. That scale is what allows several to be hung in a row over a kitchen island or a table instead of one large fitting. The steel is opaque and the opening is only 4 cm wide, so all the light leaves downward in a narrow cone onto the surface below. The sides and the ceiling stay unlit, which is the behaviour of directional rather than general lighting. Build and the rest of the range The shade is lacquered steel and made in Poland. The surface is uniform, with no ornament and no visible joins — the whole form is a smooth cylinder cut square at both ends. The CAMELEON FOURTY collection offers the same shape in a 30 cm height as well, and in nine colours including white, black, brass and brushed gold.
