Aivian is a wall light drawn along industrial lines: a bent arm in weathered brass rises from a round wall plate and carries a clear glass shade. The shade tapers towards the bottom and stays open, so the lamp is on show — a decorative bulb with a visible filament suits it well. Light and glass Clear glass hides nothing: light falls downwards in a wide cone and spills sideways as a softer glow through the walls of the shade. The fitting takes one E27 lamp of up to 60 W — not supplied, so you choose the colour and output yourself, and a dimmable lamp lets you set the level. Where it works The fitting projects 19.4 cm from the wall and stands 24.3 cm tall, so it stays out of the way in a narrow hallway or above a worktop.
