The PROFI LED strip comes as a 5-metre reel running on 24 V, with 200 2835 SMD diodes per metre, drawing 10 W/m and giving 1230 lm/m at a warm 2700 K. The PCB is 8 mm wide. Cutting every single LED — the feature that matters here A typical LED strip can be cut every 25, 50 or 100 mm. This one has a "One LED cut" section: at 200 diodes per metre the cut point falls every 5 mm. In practice a run can be matched to a cabinet, a recess or a profile to within half a centimetre, instead of leaving a dark stub of several centimetres at the end — which shows immediately when lighting a worktop or a shelf. That is the difference this series is bought for, and the one parameter no choice of profile or driver can make up for. 24 V, not 12 V Running at 24 V has one measurable advantage over 12 V: at the same power the current is halved, so voltage drop along the strip is smaller. The practical effect is that longer runs can be fed from one end without visible dimming at the far end. At 12 V a reel like this would need feeding from both ends or splitting into shorter sections. The whole reel draws 50 W (5 m × 10 W/m). Size the driver with about 20 % headroom, so 60 W minimum — running a driver at its limit shortens its life. Driver, profile, diffuser and controller are all separate items. Light quality: CRI 90 A colour rendering index of 90 is clearly above the 80 found in cheaper strips. It shows wherever colour is judged: over a kitchen worktop, in a dressing room, in a shop display, lighting timber and textiles. 2700 K is warm white with an incandescent character, for living spaces; the same strip is also made in 2300 K (very warm), 3000 K and 4000 K. The density of 200 diodes per metre matters for a second reason beyond cutting precision: the diodes sit so close together that behind a frosted profile diffuser they give a continuous line of light with no visible dots. Strips at 60 or 120 diodes per metre need a far deeper profile to achieve the same. Where to use it, and what else is needed An IP20 rating means no protection against water or dust at all: this strip is for dry interiors only and should run in an aluminium profile. The profile is not decoration — it draws heat away from the diodes, and at 10 W/m that is the condition for reaching the declared life. Typical uses: under-cabinet kitchen lighting, dressing-room and wardrobe strips, shelf lighting, cornices and ceiling coves, mirror and furniture lighting, retail and hotel display lighting. Life and catalogue data Declared life is 60,000 hours — about 54 years at three hours a day. Efficacy is 123 lm/W. The manufacturer gives a 5-year warranty.
