The Nordlux Scorpius is a small outdoor wall light with a classic lantern silhouette: 20 cm wide, 10 cm tall and projecting 10 cm from the wall. It can be mounted on its own or set in a group of several side by side — at this size and with this plain a form, repetition reads better than one large fitting.Durability — and one important limitAn IP44 rating means protection against splashing water from any direction; enough for a fitting under an eave, on a building wall or on a fence, but not for a place hit by a jet of water. The plastic is chosen to take harsh weather. The manufacturer states plainly, however, that this fitting is not suited to seaside locations — salt aerosol in the coastal belt degrades materials faster than this construction allows for. Impact resistance is IK03, that is, protection against low-energy knocks; this is a decorative fitting, not a vandal-resistant one.Light sourceThe fitting takes a single E14 bulb of up to 15 W. No bulb is included, and the 15 W limit means an LED source in practice — a conventional bulb of that wattage would give too little light.
