ABAPO is a ceiling light built from a single slim rod. A cylindrical body 5 cm across and 8.5 cm tall sits at the ceiling, and 61 cm of black rod runs out of it, ending in a diode. The whole fitting is black-painted aluminium. How far down it reaches and where to fit it From the ceiling to the tip the fitting measures 70 cm, so with a standard ceiling height of 2.6–2.7 m the light source ends up roughly at the head height of someone seated at a table. The rod is rigid and its length cannot be shortened or extended — treat those 70 cm as a fixed figure when choosing the spot, and check that nothing passes underneath. The body at the ceiling is only 5 cm across, less than a typical canopy, and it covers an installation box only if the opening falls exactly on its axis. The fitting weighs 1 kg, so the load on the fixing is small. How much light it gives The diode is permanently built in, puts out 177 lm at 4 W, and burns at 3000 K, meaning warm white. That is well below the roughly 800 lm of an old 60 W bulb — ABAPO lights the spot beneath it and works as supplementary or accent light rather than as the main lighting of a room. Over a longer worktop it makes more sense to hang several than to rely on one. The source cannot be replaced and does not have to be bought — it is included. The fitting is not dimmable, so putting a dimmer in the circuit changes nothing. Shape and the other lengths The form comes down to a cylinder and a rod: no ornament, one flat black throughout, no shade. The ABAPO series carries the same shape in three lengths — 29.5 cm, 49.5 cm and 70 cm — in black and in white, so several can hang side by side at different heights.Mostrar mais
