Tottori IL is a surface-mounted ceiling light 10 cm across and just 3.8 cm deep — a plain black cylinder sitting against the ceiling, with a flat acrylic diffuser underneath. The built-in LED module draws 10 W and gives 1150 lm of warm white 3000 K light, rated IP44. 1150 lm from a 10 cm disc This is the most interesting thing about the fitting. A classic 60 W incandescent bulb gave about 700 lm — this ceiling light gives more than half again as much light on a sixth of the electricity. Efficacy works out at 115 lm/W, which is very good even by current LED standards. In practice one unit is enough to properly light a bathroom of 4–5 m² or a stretch of hallway. In larger rooms Tottori works as a repeated element — several discs in a row or a grid, since at this diameter they never dominate a ceiling. IP44 — what it means in a bathroom IP44 means protection against solid objects above 1 mm and against splashing water from any direction. That is precisely the level the regulations call for on a ceiling above a bath or over a shower area — steam, condensation and splashes are not a problem for it. What IP44 does not cover: immersion, pressurised jets, and prolonged driving rain. This fitting does not belong inside a shower enclosure or on an exposed façade. Colour temperature and control The fitting runs at one fixed colour temperature, 3000 K — warm white, the same character old incandescent bulbs had. For a bathroom or bedroom that is the right call; if you prefer cooler, neutral light, the manufacturer makes a twin in 4000 K (see below). The colour cannot be changed after purchase — this is not a CCT-selectable fitting. The manufacturer quotes no dimming capability, so confirm before wiring it to a phase dimmer — built-in LED drivers in this class usually do not support dimming. Installation and build Mounting is surface: the disc screws straight to the ceiling, with no hole to cut and no void needed above it. That is a real advantage in a bathroom with a concrete soffit, or anywhere there simply is no suspended ceiling. The driver is built into the fitting — there is no separate transformer to find room for and no extra wiring to run. It connects to ordinary 230 V. The body is aluminium and steel, the diffuser acrylic. The black finish is textured — matt, slightly rough to the touch, and good at hiding fingerprints and dust. The whole thing weighs 0.8 kg, so even a plasterboard ceiling will hold it on standard fixings.
