You do not buy it for the amount of light, then, but for what it does to the look: switched off, the profile reads as an ordinary black bar with no sign that anything is inside it, and switched on it gives a subdued, even glow with no trace of individual diodes.When giving up 84% of the output is worth itAnywhere the profile is visible and the light is meant to be background: stair and corridor lighting at night, a channel behind a television, a ceiling in a dark finish, a bar, a screening room. The black cover also solves the opposite problem to the usual one — it is not about adding light, it is about stopping a bright white line from cutting across the dark surface the profile was set into. If you need brightness, take the opal or clear version of the same shape and the same strip.It fits three systems onlyThe midi shape is a much narrower family than the widespread BASIC — this cover fits the alba, aria and akin profiles and nothing else in the LUMINES range: covers are shaped to a specific channel section, not universal. Check the name of your profile before ordering.Installation and lengthsThe cover is pressed in from the end (top) of the profile, so it can be fitted and removed even once the profile is screwed down — which matters when the LED strip is later replaced. It is sold in 1000, 2020 and 3000 mm sections with a +5 mm tolerance; longer sections are made to order. This product is the 1 m length.
