GIULIA 20 is a pendant lamp from Rendl light studio with a classic drum silhouette. The lacquered metal shade is 20 cm across, black on the outside and lined inside with a warm gold-brown coating – that lining gives the fitting its character, because light from the bulb comes back off it warmed, and the rim of the shade glows from within with a soft golden reflection. Above the shade sits a slim brass-toned lampholder sleeve, suspended on a black textile cable. Size and suspension The shade itself is 23.8 cm tall at 20 cm across, and the cable allows a drop of up to 120 cm below the ceiling. That compact diameter argues for hanging GIULIA in a row: two or three over a kitchen island or a long table spread the light better than one large fitting and keep a rhythm without blocking the view across the worktop. On its own it works over a coffee table, beside an armchair, or as a point light in a bedroom. Lamp The fitting takes a single E27 bulb rated up to 15 W in LED technology. The light source is not supplied, so colour temperature and output are your choice – the gilded interior pairs well with warm tones around 2700 K, which lift the brass reflection. The manufacturer states the luminaire is dimmable provided a suitable dimmable lamp is fitted; the fitting itself contains no transformer or driver. Construction The build is all metal with a lacquered finish; brass-toned elements contrast with the black body. The fabric-braided cable is the detail that separates this from cheaper solutions with plain PVC flex – particularly since with such a shallow shade the cable stays fully visible and becomes part of the composition. At 0.8 kg the lamp needs no reinforced ceiling fixing. Supply: 230 V.
