The Como 372WH is a classic two-arm garden lantern: two clear polycarbonate shades under wide canopies hang from curved arms on either side of a decorative post top. The post is telescopic with an ornamental base, and the whole fitting is cast aluminium, powder-coated white (RAL 9003). Height, width and where it fits The telescopic post sets the height of the lantern anywhere between 182 and 249 cm — the figure to compare with the height of trees and shrubs where the lantern will stand. The arms with their shades span 80 cm, so at the top the lantern needs a strip of free space that wide, clear of branches and eaves. The set consists of two luminaires (art. 3030), a reducer (art. 3040) and the post (art. 3010). The base is bolted down through three ø10.5 mm holes spaced at 120° on a ø240 mm circle. Concrete-in or ground anchors and an adapter for a concrete foundation are sold separately by Norlys — one of these has to be bought to fix the lantern in place. The lantern weighs 10.65 kg net. Bulbs and light Each of the two luminaires has an E27 socket and takes an A55–A60 shaped bulb — LED up to 9 W. The bulbs are not included, so two have to be bought, and they decide the colour of the light; the manufacturer names a 2700 K LED bulb as an option, which gives warm, slightly yellowish light. The user changes the bulbs themselves, with the power switched off. The shades are clear and the light spreads sideways and downwards, partly also upwards — the manufacturer states that 17% of the luminous flux goes above the level of the luminaires. Norlys intends the lantern for gardens and terraces; it also suits a park and the entrance to a hotel or restaurant. Build and installation The IP54 rating means the lantern can stand outdoors without cover: the housing is protected against dust and against water splashed from any direction. The polycarbonate shades are UV-stabilised and the joints are sealed with a silicone gasket. The fitting is protection class II, so it needs no earth conductor. Power is connected to terminals for up to 4 × 2.5 mm² using a round-sheathed cable up to 12.5 mm in diameter; the terminals allow the supply to be looped on to the next lantern.
