E312 is a small garden spotlight on a ground spike, in a black ABS housing with a polycarbonate diffuser. The spike and 30 cm of cable are included; the GU10 lamp is bought separately. A spike instead of drilling The fitting needs no foundation and no anchoring — the spike pushes into the soil by hand, with the cable run under bark mulch or leaf litter. That changes how you work with a garden: the light can be moved after a shrub is replanted, after a bed is rearranged, or seasonally. With permanently fixed fittings, each such change means breaking and making good the surface. Aiming The head rotates and tilts up and down, so one fitting can light a tree trunk from below, a section of hedge, or the texture of a wall. That is what this kind of spotlight is mostly for: light aimed upward at the surface meant to be seen after dark — not at the lawn. The lamp choice decides the effect The fitting takes a GU10 lamp of up to 7 W but is sold without one. In practice that is an advantage: the beam angle is chosen for the job. A narrow 24–36° beam draws a clear column of light up a trunk; a wide 60–120° one lights a hedge evenly. 2700–3000 K looks natural on bark and stone, while 4000 K brings out the green of foliage. For outdoor use, pick a lamp rated for enclosed fittings. IP54 — where to place it and where not IP54 means limited dust protection and protection against splashing water from any direction. The fitting will take rain and a sprinkler. It is not built for immersion: do not set it in a hollow where water stands after a downpour, nor under a downpipe where a stream falls. The −25 to +50 °C operating range covers a Polish winter. The Seaside range and the material Zambelis lists this model in its Seaside line, intended for locations with salt in the air. An ABS housing rather than metal is an advantage here rather than a saving: plastic does not corrode, so in a coastal garden or by a pool it outlasts painted aluminium, whose coating the first stone thrown by a mower will lift. The IK04 impact rating is moderate — keep the fitting out of the strimmer's reach.
