A fitting for AR111, not for an ordinary bulb Alcazar 140.WC is a round recessed fitting designed around the AR111 lamp — a 111 mm reflector on a G53 base. That is a different format from the ubiquitous GU10: the larger mirror gives a better-formed, more even beam and a more "professional" pattern of light, which is why AR111 has been the standard in shops, galleries and showrooms for years. The manufacturer allows two routes: classic AR111/QR111 halogen up to 75 W, or — and this is Lumifall's own recommendation — an LED reflector in the same format. Two voltages, two installations This is worth settling before buying, because the wiring depends on it. AR111/QR111 lamps on a G53 base run at 12 V and need a driver or transformer, for which space must be found above the ceiling. Alternatively the manufacturer offers an optional GU10 socket — a mains-voltage version with no separate driver, simpler to install but limiting the choice of lamps to the ES111/GU10 format. Dimensions and cut-out The trim is ø180 mm and the cut-out ø150 mm — typical figures for AR111 fittings and worth checking if this is to replace an older, smaller one. At just 315 g it puts little load on a suspended ceiling. The insert moves, which with the narrow AR111 beam allows the light to be aimed at a chosen point rather than straight down. White with chrome The WC version pairs a white trim with a chrome interior: the outer surface is half-matt and the inner reflector is polished aluminium. Chrome inside increases the share of light thrown downward, but it also shows as a bright point when viewed at an angle — where maximum glare control matters, a darker interior (Alcazar 140.BC) is the better choice. Alcazar comes in white, black, black+chrome, silver+chrome and white+chrome series. Conditions of use IP20 places it in dry rooms: living room, bedroom, kitchen, office, retail space. The fitting is dimmable — the range and method depend on the lamp and driver chosen. The manufacturer gives a 5-year warranty.
