TWYLA is a pendant lamp with a handwoven natural rattan shade set on a steel frame in a Burnished Gold finish. The shade has an hourglass shape cinched at the waist, measures 30.5 cm across and 45.7 cm high, and the weave is open — the lamp inside is visible through the wall of the shade. How high to hang it The fitting hangs on a chain ending in a rod, and the drop adjusts between 57.7 and 179.7 cm. The height is fixed at installation, so it is worth working out beforehand: over a table the bottom edge of a shade usually sits 70-80 cm above the top, and over a walkway higher, to keep the headroom clear. The lamp weighs 2.08 kg net, and the 35.5 x 35.5 x 55 cm carton weighs 4.44 kg. The manufacturer specifies a hard-wired connection — this is not a plug-in fitting. Protection class I means an earth conductor has to be brought to the terminals. Which lamp it needs There is one E27 lampholder, rated for a lamp of up to 40 W. No lamp is supplied and there is no built-in LED module, so colour and brightness are yours to choose. The manufacturer recommends a long tubular lamp — through the open weave the shape of the lamp itself is visible and becomes part of how the fitting looks. The fitting has no dimming electronics of its own: dimming works only with a lamp described as dimmable and a dimmer in the circuit. Build and where the design comes from The shade is hand-woven from natural rattan; the frame and the ceiling plate are steel. The open weave does not shut the light in, it cuts across it — the pattern of the weave appears on the ceiling and the walls.
