A black cone under a wooden bail This Zambelis pendant is not an ordinary shade on a cord. Above the matt black cone of metal and aluminium arches a bail of pale wood — the cable runs through it and drops to the lampholder, so the wood is both a structural element and the only warm note in the whole form. Black against raw wood reads Scandinavian, but without rustic ornament. Size and scale The shade is 16 cm across and the whole fitting 31 cm tall — a small, light lamp (1.8 kg with packaging). The 150 cm cable is adjustable, so the drop is set at installation. The canopy is small: Ø 10 × 2 cm. One, or a row? At 16 cm across a single unit lights a spot — it works well over a bedside table, beside an armchair, or in a corner. Over a kitchen island or a long table a row of three or four at even spacing is the natural answer; that gives even light and makes use of the rhythm of the repeated wooden bail. Light source An E27 socket, 40 W maximum, supply 220–240 V / 50–60 Hz. No bulb is included — you choose it, and with a cone open at the bottom that is worth thinking about: the lamp is visible, so a decorative filament bulb will look better than a plain frosted one, and hung low over a table a less bright source avoids glare. The manufacturer states plainly that the fitting is not dimmable. Safety and intended use Built to protection class I — the fitting requires an earth connection. IP20 confines it to dry interiors.
