The SLV ONE 60 DALI is a ring 60 cm across and only 3 cm deep, hung on three fine wires. The centre of the ring is open, so the fitting neither covers the ceiling nor casts a solid shadow – you look straight through it from below. The manufacturer's item number is 1002910. It lights both ways The key property of this fitting: SLV classes its output as direct and indirect. The ring carries a diffuser on the underside and on the top, so it lights the surface beneath it and washes the ceiling above it at the same time. That changes how a room reads: the layer bounced off the ceiling raises the ambient level and noticeably softens the contrast around the fitting itself, so the ring does not appear as a bright disc against a dark background. In offices and reception areas, up-and-down fittings are chosen over plain downlights for exactly this reason. Choose the light colour The fitting carries a colour temperature switch with two positions: 3000 K and 4000 K. In the warm position it delivers 1480 lm, in the neutral position 1550 lm. The decision is made at installation rather than in an app – but it means a single stocked article serves both a living room or restaurant, where warmth is the point, and an office, where 4000 K suits the work better. Colour rendering is above 90, clearly beyond the usual 80, so fabrics, wood and food stay true. DALI control The fitting dims on the DALI standard. Its terminal block has five contacts: L, N, protective earth and two DA terminals for the control bus. That means a control pair has to be run to the fitting alongside the supply – in return you get flicker-free stepless dimming, addressing of individual luminaires and lighting scenes, none of which a phase dimmer provides. When sizing the protection, allow for the inrush current of 30 A lasting 2 µs: with several fittings on one circuit, it is what decides how many the breaker will take. Installation and adjustment A metal mounting bracket screws to the ceiling (plugs and screws are supplied) and takes the round ceiling rose, 18 cm across and 4 cm high. The ring hangs on three wires of up to 300 cm, and each has its own gripper. That lets you not only set the height but also tilt the ring deliberately – the manufacturer's instructions show both positions, level and angled, as correct. Wiring and operation The fitting is protection class I, so the earth conductor must be connected and installation is an electrician's job. It accepts conductors of 0.75–2.5 mm². The ambient range is wide – −20 °C to +50 °C – but the fitting has no moisture protection at all (IP20) and is for dry interiors only. The LED module is part number 916474 and, like the driver, may be replaced only by a professional. Rated life is 30,000 hours and the photobiological risk group is RG1. Where it fits A 60 cm ring is large enough to define the zone over a dining table or reception desk on its own, and shallow enough not to dominate the room. It works singly above a table and equally well in rhythmic rows of several across a lobby, meeting room or lounge.
