Application: Sterility testing Packaging: 10 ml in 17 ml tube with blue cap (20 or 100 tubes per box) Synonym: Fluid Thioglycollate Medium, Thioglycollate Broth, FTM Fluid Thioglycollate Medium is a universal complex medium. Thioglycollate and L-cystine reduce the redox potential of the culture medium and create an anaerobic atmosphere, along with inactivating mercury and other heavy metal compounds. The presence of agar reduces rapid diffusion of oxygen through the medium but may lead to slight turbidity in larger volumes (filled bottles).
