VERRE SILVER is a three-light pendant on a plain ceiling bar in a mirror-polished silver finish. Three thin cables of different lengths hang from the bar — the middle one shorter than the outer two — ending in cylindrical E27 lampholders. The holders are bare: the lamp has no shade. Dimensions and where to hang it The bar is 60 cm long and 15 cm wide, and the manufacturer gives a total height of 100 cm measured from the ceiling to the lowest holder. 60 cm is the figure to set against the width of a table: over a top 80–90 cm wide the three points spread evenly, and over a narrower one they start to reach past its edges. Because the holders hang on cables, the bulbs end up low — over a table the bottom of the bulb is usually set 70–80 cm above the top. Where people walk underneath, check those 100 cm against the height of your own ceiling. Which bulbs you have to buy The fitting has three E27 sockets and no bulbs are included; the manufacturer gives a ceiling of 60 W per bulb. Three sources together give enough light to serve as the main lighting over a table rather than only as an accent, and you choose the colour and brightness yourself when you buy the bulbs. The bulb is fully visible here, so its shape and the kind of glass decide the look of the lamp as much as the frame does — which is why decorative bulbs with a visible filament are the usual choice in a fitting like this. An uncovered source also shines straight into the eyes, so where it hangs low a lower-output bulb or one in opal glass works better. Materials and construction The frame is metal in a mirror-bright silver finish, repeated on the bar and on all three holders; a white insulating ring is visible under each holder.
