Focus Zoom is a track spotlight from Maytoni, made for the single-phase Unity system. The body carries an adjustment ring that varies the beam spread continuously from 15° to 50°. It is the one genuinely important thing to know about this spotlight, because it changes how you plan the lighting.On an ordinary spotlight the beam angle is fixed at the moment of purchase: get it wrong once and you live with light that is too narrow or too wide. Here:15° gives a tight, strongly concentrated beam — for a picture, a sculpture, a single display piece in a window;30–35° is the usual setting over a worktop or a table;50° spreads light across the width of a wall or a shelving unit and works as general illumination.The adjustment is made after installation, on the mounted fitting. If the furniture moves and the light lands in the wrong place, you correct it there and then rather than buying a different spotlight. 355° swivel and a recessed sourceAlongside the beam adjustment there is a 355° swivel mechanism, so the fitting can be aimed almost anywhere around its vertical axis, whatever point of the track it was clipped into.The second feature only shows itself in use: the recessed light source. The diode does not sit flush with the rim of the body but is set back inside the barrel — which means that, looking at the fitting from the side or obliquely from below, you do not see a glowing point. That matters in a restaurant, a shop and an office, where people look towards the ceiling from many positions and a bright point in the field of view tires the eye. 900 lm, CRI 90 and 3000 KMaytoni states 900 lumens from 12 W — about 75 lm/W, which matches the declared energy class G. For an accent spotlight that is normal: adjustable optics and a recessed source always cost a little efficiency, and in return give beam control an ordinary fitting does not have.The more telling figure is elsewhere: CRI 90. Colour rendering at that level is clearly above the usual CRI 80 and shows wherever colour matters — on a painting, on fabric, on a product in a window, on food. 3000 K keeps the light warm, so the fitting suits a home as readily as a restaurant.There is no dimming — Maytoni lists Dimmable: No. The Focus Zoom series includes a separate Dim Triac version if brightness control is needed, plus 4000 K counterparts. The fitting works only with the Maytoni Unity single-phase system — adapters from other makers are not compatible. Track, supply and end caps are bought separately, and they decide how many spotlights fit a given run.Protection class II means double insulation: the fitting needs no earth conductor, which simplifies installation on older wiring.
