Overview Urnex Cafiza 2 is a professional-grade espresso machine cleaning powder used across cafés and at home. Its concentrated formula breaks down the coffee oils and fine residue that collect inside group heads, valves, and lines, which is the buildup behind bitter, stale-tasting shots and uneven flow through the screen. It is formulated to balance cleaning strength with rinsability, so it clears out fully and does not leave a soapy aftertaste. The powder is odourless. How to use it For backflushing, put about 3g (roughly half a teaspoon) into a blind filter in the portafilter, run the brew cycle for 10 seconds, stop for 10 seconds, and repeat five times, then rinse by backflushing again with no powder. For soaking parts, dissolve about 6g (one teaspoon) per litre of hot water and soak portafilters, baskets, and screens for 30 minutes before rinsing with clean hot water. Always check your machine manual first, as not every machine is built for backflushing. At 3g per backflush, a 900g tub covers a great many cleaning cycles.
