SPONSER® BICARB CAPS provide sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO?) in precise capsule
form and help ambitious athletes to specifically increase their performance
during intense, high-intensity exercise. Intense, anaerobic-lactacidic exercise
such as sprints, intervals or steep climbs leads to increased lactate
formation. This releases H? ions, lowering the pH value in the muscles and
causing hyperacidity. The consequences are muscle burning, rapid fatigue and a
significant drop in performance. Sodium bicarbonate increases the body's own
acid buffer capacity in the blood. Targeted intake before exercise stabilises
the pH value, delays lactate accumulation and postpones fatigue. This enables
higher performance in crucial phases of competition and improved recovery. The
performance-enhancing effect of sodium bicarbonate is well documented
scientifically. Leading institutions such as the Australian Institute of Sport
(AIS) and the Swiss Sports Nutrition Society (SSNS) classify sodium bicarbonate
as an A-class supplement with the highest level of evidence. SPONSER® BICARB
CAPS provide this proven substance in a capsule-based form, which allows for
precise dosing, individual adjustment and particularly good tolerability.
SPONSER® BICARB CAPS increase acid buffering capacity and help to delay lactate
accumulation and increase anaerobic performance. Taking it in capsule form
allows for staggered intake, which can reduce gastrointestinal discomfort. Each
capsule contains 1 g of sodium bicarbonate, allowing for easy dosage based on
body weight. The product is particularly suitable for use in hot weather and
during repeated, acid-forming exertion. It is developed and tested in
Switzerland according to sports science criteria. BICARB CAPS are aimed at
ambitious athletes who want to improve their anaerobic performance in a
targeted manner. They are particularly suitable for sprint and middle-distance
disciplines in athletics, swimming or rowing, for mountain bike cross-country
and eliminator races, for Nordic and alpine skiing, and for team sports with
repeated explosive exertion such as football, rugby or hockey. The recommended
total dose is 0.3 g of sodium bicarbonate per kilogram of body weight. One
capsule provides 1 g of sodium bicarbonate. For a body weight of 70 kg, this
corresponds to 21 g or 21 capsules. The total amount should be taken over at
least 30 minutes, ideally in the time window of about 90 to 60 minutes before
the start of the competition, for example divided into three portions. The
capsules should be taken with a total of 0.5 to 1 litre of water. Extending the
intake period to 120 to 60 minutes before the start can further improve
tolerability. For optimal tolerability, it is recommended to test the intake
protocol outside of competitions and to try it out under training-like,
competition-simulated conditions. If you experience tolerance issues, the
combination protocol ‘Lactate Buffer + Bicarb Caps’ may be useful.
Alternatively, the total dose can be reduced by about a third, which slightly
weakens the effect but can significantly improve tolerance.
