s.luce Made Ring XL is a suspended aluminium ring 150 cm across, hung eccentrically on steel cables. The ring profile is 8 cm high and 1 cm thick, and the light comes from an LED strip running around its circumference. Every piece is made to order in Germany. A metre and a half across — where a ring like this hangs The ring describes an area of roughly 1.8 m² on the ceiling. That is a scale to compare with the floor plan of the whole room rather than with a table: the manufacturer intends the fitting for representative spaces — foyers, galleries, stairwells and office floors. The suspension is up to 5 m and can be shortened, so the ring can sit close under the ceiling or drop the full height of a stairwell. Cables and a ceiling canopy are included; the suspension is eccentric — the cables meet at a single point beside the centre of the ring, not above it. How much light it gives The LED strip draws 66 W and delivers 6594 lm at 3000 K, a warm white. That output is enough for the fitting to light a room on its own rather than merely mark a point in it — for comparison, the old 60 W incandescent bulb produced around 800 lm. There are 168 diodes to the metre of circumference, so the lit edge reads as continuous, with no visible points. Colour rendering is above Ra 90: fabrics, wood and leather keep close to the colours they show in daylight. Dimming works through a leading- or trailing-edge dimmer. The manufacturer rates the source at 25,000 hours, roughly 22 years at three hours a day — the strip is not swapped out like a bulb. Finish and what is included This variant is the one with individual RAL lacquering — the ring is painted for the specific order, alongside the stock finishes of aluminium, black, white, gold and gold leaf. The manufacturer recommends choosing the shade from a physical RAL fan in daylight, because a screen renders it differently. The ceiling canopy and the steel cable suspension come with the fitting. At extra cost the manufacturer offers a higher-output strip, colour control, centric suspension and DALI or SmartHome control — none of those options is part of this item.Meer tonen
