Swell Wall Light - 4 Lights - Polished Chrome Elstead

Name: Swell Wall Light - 4 Lights - Polished Chrome Elstead
Brand: Elstead Lighting

Swell is a four-light bathroom wall light by Quoizel, distributed by Elstead Lighting. A horizontal steel arm in polished chrome, fixed to the wall with a round backplate, carries four holders with bell-shaped shades of frosted, ribbed glass. The mirror shine of the chrome matches bathroom taps and fittings in the same finish. Size and where to mount it The wall light is 81.3 cm wide and 23.7 cm tall, and projects 17.1 cm from the wall. Compare the width with the mirror or cabinet above your basin: four shades spread over more than 80 cm light the whole of that length, not just its centre. The fitting weighs 3.2 kg. The manufacturer intends Swell for interiors and bathrooms. The IP44 rating means protection against water splashing from any direction, which matters next to a basin and above a mirror. It is a Class I fitting, so the protective earth must be connected in the wall box. Light sources included Four 3 W G9 LED capsules come in the box, so the light works as soon as it is connected. Each gives 300 lm, 1200 lm in total – more than an old 60 W bulb, which gave about 800 lm. The manufacturer quotes a 28 W equivalent per capsule. The 3000 K colour temperature is a warm white, and a colour rendering index of Ra 80 is the standard level for home lighting. The capsules are replaceable: the manufacturer quotes 25,000 hours of use, over 22 years at three hours a day, and when one wears out you replace the G9 lamp, not the whole fitting. The supplied capsules are dimmable and the fitting supports dimming – a dimmer in the circuit is all that is needed to adjust brightness. Build and style The frame is steel, and the frosted glass of the shades diffuses the light and hides the capsules, so no bare lamp shows in the mirror. Quoizel describes Swell as an American classic with a timeless metropolitan look – hence the classic bell shades and turned holders with decorative finials. In our catalogue the light is listed for the bathroom, above a mirror, at a dressing table and for the dining room. The Swell range also includes one-, two- and three-light versions and a brushed brass finish.Meer tonen
