Bazar Bizar Cascais serving bowl stoneware white Ø 32 cm

Name: Bazar Bizar Cascais serving bowl stoneware white Ø 32 cm
Brand: BAZAR BIZAR

The Cascais serving bowl is a round stoneware vessel 32 cm across, flaring upward from a low foot ring. The glaze is white with a warm, creamy cast and turns rust brown at the rim. The piece is made in Portugal. Size and what it holds The bowl measures 32 cm in diameter and 10 cm high. Compare that diameter with the platters you already use and with the middle of your own table — this is a vessel for one dish for the whole table rather than a portion per person. The manufacturer publishes no capacity. The walls open outward from the narrow foot all the way to the rim, so the contents are fully visible from above and a spoon reaches the base at a natural angle. That same shape means the bowl takes up more table surface at the top than at its base. Crackle glaze and hand finishing The whole Cascais collection is finished with a crackle glaze. The manufacturer notes that the intensity of the crazing differs on every piece and that the network of fine cracks is part of the decoration rather than a fault — so the piece you receive will not be identical to the photograph. The finishing is done by hand, so tone and shape vary slightly between pieces. The rust-coloured break at the rim, where the glaze lies thinnest, runs differently on every bowl. Looking after it Wash and dry the bowl thoroughly before first use. The manufacturer warns against thermal shock: heat and cool it gradually, and stand hot vessels on trivets. A sudden change of temperature is the commonest cause of a crack in stoneware. The manufacturer recommends hand washing the larger and more delicate pieces in this collection, and this bowl is the largest size in the family — so it is better to keep it out of the dishwasher.Meer tonen
