Cantia is a battery-powered desk lamp – a round white base 18 cm across and an arm carrying the light source 30 cm above the desk. Colour and brightness are changed by touch, with no buttons and no remote. A battery instead of a cable Here is the thing the name does not tell you: the lamp has a built-in 18650 cell of 1,800 mAh and charges from 5 V / 1 A – an ordinary phone charger or a laptop USB port. In practice it does not have to live beside a socket: it can sit in the middle of a table, move out to a balcony, or travel. At 2 W this is a lamp for one working position, not for lighting a room – 85 lm is enough for a keyboard, a book or a worktop, and is not a substitute for a ceiling light. Three light colours from one surface Cantia switches between 3000 K, 4000 K and 6000 K. That is not decoration – the three values cover three different situations at the same desk: 3000 K (warm white) in the evening, when the light should not get in the way of falling asleep; 4000 K (neutral) for ordinary work and reading; 6000 K (cool, close to daylight) for tasks demanding concentration and honest colour judgement. Colour rendering of CRI 80+ is adequate for documents and drawing. Touch dimming Brightness is set by touching the housing. There is no rocker switch on a cable and no knob to work loose – just a smooth surface to swipe or tap.
