The Agilent ZORBAX GF-250 and GF-450 SEC (gel filtration) columns are designed for the size separation of proteins and other biomolecules. The separation range is 4,000-900,000 for globular proteins when GF-250 and GF-450 columns are used in series. The GF-250/GF-450 SEC columns have a hydrophilic, diol-bound phase for high protein recovery (typically >90%) and a unique zirconia modification of the silica for a pH working range of 3-8. The HPLC column shown here has inner diameter 9.4 mm, length 250 mm and 6.0 µm large particles. The result is a column that can be used for both analytical and preparative protein separations with flow rates of up to 3 mL/min.
