ALLEGRO is a plain solid-beech bench with a soft beige seat. It is 140 cm long and designed for two — it fits along a hallway wall, stands at a table in place of a pair of chairs, or serves in a bedroom as the place clothes get put down. At 43 cm it matches the height of an ordinary chair, so at a dining table you sit on it normally rather than too low. Construction The frame is solid beech — not board, not veneer. The legs are 24 cm tall, which leaves room underneath for shoes, a basket or a vacuum cleaner and makes cleaning easier. The permitted load is 200 kg, comfortably more than two adults. The seat The soft part measures 50 × 130 cm and is 13 cm thick, covered in beige polyester fabric. Seat depth is 50 cm. The cover comes off, but it is not machine washable — clean it spot by spot. Assembly The bench arrives as a self-assembly kit: the manufacturer includes instructions and a tool, and states that one person can put it together. A hammer and screwdrivers are useful in addition, and a drill-driver makes it easiest.
