SIMPLE 3190/14 is a slim 60 cm wall bar in white metal — 6 cm high and projecting just 9 cm from the wall. The series name is the whole idea: no decoration, one plain bar of light that is not meant to draw attention.Where it works At 9 cm deep the fitting stays out of the way, so the natural places are above a dressing-table mirror, above a shelf, over a picture or along a worktop. 60 cm is close to the width of a typical bathroom mirror or vanity — the light then falls evenly across a whole face, without the one-sided shadow a single point source always leaves.Note: this is a T5 fluorescent fitting, not an LED one The fitting takes one T5 tube on a G5 base, 14 W. That matters when buying: since 25 August 2023, mercury-containing T5 and T8 fluorescent tubes may no longer be manufactured or placed on the market in the European Union — only remaining stock may be sold and used. In practice the classic tube is getting harder to find. That does not write the fitting off. LED replacement tubes with a G5 base in the size that matches a 14 W fluorescent (the standard length of that tube is 549 mm) are widely available and draw noticeably less power. The one thing to check is whether the retrofit you pick works with the ballast fitted inside, or requires it to be bypassed — retrofit makers state this plainly, and if in doubt an electrician should confirm it.Mounting and limits The fitting is hard-wired to 230 V and cannot be dimmed. IP20 means protection against touch and large solid objects only — it must not be installed in a bathroom protection zone or anywhere else exposed to damp.
