V-TAC VT-50503 Blue LED Module – 3x SMD5050, 0.72W 12V, 66lm, 160°, IP67, 67x15x8.5 mm, SKU 5118

VT-50503 is a single V-TAC LED module with three SMD5050 diodes emitting blue light. Article number 5118. It is an installation component, not a finished luminaire. What an LED module is forModules like this are the basic building block of signage and decorative lighting: they fill three-dimensional letters, light boxes, logos and backlit panels. Instead of a continuous strip, a row of separate modules joined by wire is used — this lets you distribute light across an irregular shape and match the number of points to its area. The 160° beam is the key here. Such a wide beam lights the face of a letter evenly from a short distance, which lets the housing be shallow. A narrow beam would produce visible bright patches on the face above each diode. IP67 — a module you can submergeIP67 means dust-tight protection and resistance to temporary immersion in water. For a module destined for the inside of a sign standing outdoors this is the deciding parameter: the inside of a light box collects condensation, and rain gets in through an imperfect housing. An IP67 module survives both. The housing combines aluminium (a heatsink carrying heat away from the diodes) with plastic (potting that protects the electronics). 12 V — and what follows from itThe module runs at 12 V safety extra-low voltage and requires a 12 V driver, which is not included. At 0.72 W per module, one 60 W driver would in theory run over 80 of them — in practice leave 20–30% headroom and allow for voltage drop over long cable runs.Running at 12 V also means the low-voltage side needs no electrical qualification to assemble, though the driver itself connects to 230 V. Blue — what not to expect from itThis is a monochromatic module: the diodes emit one colour, blue. Two consequences are worth knowing:There is no colour temperature. Terms like "3000 K" or "6000 K" apply only to white sources; for blue light they are undefined. There is no meaningful CRI. The colour rendering index describes how faithfully a source shows the colours of what it lights — single-colour light by definition does not do that. For applications where colour rendering matters, a white module is needed; this one is for effect: a blue outline, a backlit logo, an accent in a shop window. Specification Model: VT-50503 | SKU: 5118 | EAN: 3800157610223 Diodes: 3 x SMD5050 | Colour: blue Power: 0.72 W | Flux: 66 lm | Efficacy: 90 lm/W Voltage: 12 V (driver not included) Beam angle: 160° Dimensions: 67 x 15 x 8.5 mm | Weight: 0.01 kg Ingress protection: IP67 Material: aluminium and plastic Life: over 20,000 h Certification: CE, EMC, RoHS | Warranty: 2 years Things to bear in mindThe 12 V driver is not included — it must be selected separately, sized to the total wattage of all the modules in the installation. If the modules go outdoors, the driver needs an appropriate ingress rating too; the module's own IP67 does not protect the rest of the circuit.V-TAC uses the designation VT-50503 for the whole 5050-3 module family; it is SKU 5118 that identifies the blue version. Quote that number when ordering. The same family also includes an RGB variant (VT-50506).Show more
