PIKO 21062 scale model Locomotive model Preassembled HO (1:87) - PIKO
Novelty 2026: Elegance and power at high speed the E 19 class For the revolution of rail transport at the end of the 1930s, the German Reichsbahn developed the E 19 class, one of the fastest and most elegant electric locomotives of its time. Designed for operation on the fully electrified Berlin Halle (Saale) Munich route, a top speed of 180 km/h was planned, with reserves for speeds of over 200 km/h. On the steep gradients of the Franconian Forest, the locomotive was still intended to achieve 60 km/h. With the withdrawal of the last locomotive, E 19 002, in 1978, active service came to an end. Today, E 19 01 has been preserved as an impressive testament to German electric locomotive history.
