Perforated lids are crucial for optimizing the physical and biological sampling efficiency of Andersen impaction-based microbial air samplers. Air is accelerated through the perforations in the lid, creating a jet that impacts the agar surface. The perforated lid A 55 mm for MAS-100 Sirius Microbial Air Samplers is designed to fit tightly on the instrument by easy and quick magnetic closure without the need for twisting. It is made from 316L stainless-steel which has good resistance towards a broad range of disinfectants including vaporized hydrogen peroxide and is suitable for autoclaving. The magnetic lid type A 55 mm has a sieve geometry of 300 holes with a diameter of 0.6 mm and is suitable for use with 55 mm contact plates. This sieve configuration delivers a nominal d50 value of 1.1 µm at a flow rate of 100 SLPM (standard liter per minute).
