UTAH 8352 is an outdoor wall light with a plain rectangular volume: an elongated aluminium block in a dark grey RAL 7024 finish, open along its underside so the light spills out as a narrow band down the wall. It is a solution for façades, entrances, terraces and garden walls — where the lighting needs to be legible and effective without drawing attention to itself during the day. Form and finish The fixture measures 25 cm long by 11 cm high and 11 cm deep — the proportions of a horizontal rectangle, which sit well above a door, along a driveway or on a fence post. The body is powder-coated aluminium in dark grey (RAL 7024, graphite grey), a shade that does not yellow in the sun and does not clash with concrete, render or timber cladding. The UTAH series, designed by the Mantra Team, also comes in white and corten finishes and, beyond wall lights, includes outdoor ceiling lights and table lamps. Weather resistance The fixture is rated IP65: fully dust-tight and resistant to water jets from any direction. That is the level which allows mounting on a completely unsheltered façade exposed to rain and driving wind, and it also survives being hosed down when the façade is cleaned. At that rating a modern LED delivers roughly 2000 lumens — light comparable to an old 150 W incandescent, which is a great deal for a façade sconce, so a 6–10 W lamp is enough in most situations. Warm white at 2700–3000 K works at an entrance and on a terrace where a welcoming feel matters; neutral white at 4000 K gives a more technical effect and better visibility on a driveway or steps. The fixture is not dimmable, so if you want a lower light level it is simpler to fit a weaker bulb than to add a dimmer. Installation The light fixes directly to the wall; at 1 kg, standard plugs for masonry or concrete are sufficient. The fixture cannot be tilted or rotated, so the direction of light is set by how it is positioned during installation. Because it is class I and works outdoors, installation should be carried out by an electrician — the circuit needs a protective earth conductor and, as good practice, residual current protection. Where it works The narrow downward beam lights what lies directly beneath the fixture: a doorstep, stairs, a section of path, a stretch of terrace. A row of these sconces leads the eye along a wall or a fence. Because no light is aimed upwards or sideways, the fixture does not dazzle neighbours and does not spill light into the sky — which matters in terraced housing and on small plots.
