CAPUCCINA is a design by José Ignacio Ballester — a slim black stem curving up from a round base and ending in a small conical head tilted forward. The lamp stands 129 cm tall and reaches 45.6 cm to the side, on a base 20 cm deep. This is a reading lamp, not room lighting The curve of the stem is not decoration — it moves the light point beyond the footprint of the base, so the head falls over the knees of someone seated rather than behind their back. Hence the 45.6 cm reach: the lamp is placed beside an armchair or sofa, not in front of it. The 600 lm output concentrated in a small cone gives a clearly bounded pool of light, enough for reading but deliberately too small to brighten a whole room — this is a supplementary fitting, not a main one. Foot switch The lamp has a foot switch on the cable rather than a switch at the head or on the stem. In practice that means it can be turned on and off without standing up and without reaching — with a lamp beside an armchair, a difference felt daily. The cable is 1.8 m, so the socket can be a few steps away. An LED source, but a replaceable one The LED module is included and runs at 3000 K with a colour rendering index of 80. One detail matters: the manufacturer declares the source replaceable — a rarity in integrated-LED fittings, and it means that after 50,000 hours (the declared life) the lamp does not become electronic waste. The declared switching count is 30,000 cycles, which with a foot switch used several times a day genuinely counts. Construction The body combines aluminium with iron — the lighter alloy in the stem and head, the heavier metal in the base, so that a lamp with this reach does not tip forward. The finish is black and matt, uniform along the whole length. Protection class II means no earth conductor is needed; IP20 places it in dry rooms.
