A slender light marker, not a street column GES2424N is a very light garden fitting: a thin anthracite stem 80 cm tall topped by a flat head just 5 cm across and 1.5 cm thick. The complete luminaire weighs 0.16 kg. It is worth picturing that before ordering, because the phrase "lighting pole" is misleading here — this is neither a park lantern nor a mast, but a discreet 1.5 W, 99 lm marker that traces the line of a path rather than lighting a driveway. 24 V supply — part of a low-voltage system The fitting runs on 24 V in protection class III, that is, on a SELV safety extra-low-voltage circuit. It must not be connected directly to 230 V mains — a 24 V garden power supply is required, and the whole run of fittings connects to it. The practical consequence is a favourable one: low-voltage cable may be laid shallow under the turf, without conduit and without the qualification a mains installation demands, and each fitting draws only 1.5 W, so even a small supply will carry more than a dozen points. When planning a run, add up the loads and leave headroom for voltage drop over a long cable.
