GES2121C is a recessed step light from the Italian brand Gea Luce — a square 90 × 90 mm bezel in graphite grey, flush with the wall, with a half-round light aperture in its lower half. The aperture is closed by a glass diffuser with horizontal louvres that shield the diode: looking down at the fitting from the stairs you do not see a point of light — you see the surface it lights. The box also contains the LED module and the transformer, so the fitting is complete. The dimensions run as follows: the visible bezel is 90 × 90 mm, the back box is ø 80 mm and 66 mm deep, and the hole to be cut in the wall is ø 82 mm. When planning the installation it is mainly that depth that counts — 66 mm has to fit inside the masonry or the partition build-up together with the cable. Protection and durability IP65 means complete dust protection and resistance to water jets from any direction — a level that allows outdoor mounting, beside garden steps, on a terrace or in a boundary wall, not just in a dry interior. The body is aluminium and the diffuser glass, which matters on a fitting set at ankle height: glass survives cleaning and does not haze the way plastic does. If visibility of the treads matters more than the discretion of the fitting itself, the white variant gives markedly more light.
