BERISSO is a black aluminium wall spot: a square wall plate, a bent arm and a cylindrical head whose lens sits deep inside the sleeve. A round switch sits on the wall plate. How much light it gives, and what kind The fitting has a built-in 3 W LED module that delivers 190 lumens. That is a point output, many times smaller than the roughly 800 lm of a former 60 W bulb — BERISSO lights a book or the surface below it, not a whole room. Plan it as a supplementary light alongside the main fitting. The colour temperature is 3000 K, warm white — a tone close to an incandescent bulb, with no cool bluish cast. The lens is recessed into the sleeve, so the source does not glare when you look at the fitting from the side. The switch on the fitting The round switch on the wall plate turns the lamp on and off without reaching for a wall switch. Beside a bed or an armchair that means the fitting works independently of the rest of the circuit, and no separate control wire has to be run to it. Size, installation and running it The whole outline of the fitting — from the wall plate to the end of the head — fits inside a rectangle of 20 × 27.5 cm. Compare that against the gap between the bed and the wall, or the free strip of wall above a bedside table: this is the space the fitting takes up with its arm extended. It runs on 230 V mains, so the fitting is wired into the installation rather than plugged into a socket. The light source is supplied and is permanently built in — the module is not changed like a bulb, and once it is spent the whole fitting is replaced. The body is black-painted aluminium.Show more
