CORUNA is a pendant in the form of a flat disc 50 cm across, in matt bottle green. The shade is shallow – a flattened cone rather than a dome – and its underside is closed by a white acrylic diffuser. The whole thing hangs on a black cable with a black canopy, at a total height of 120 cm. Brass as the only accent Between cable and disc sits a short brass sleeve – the only element in a different colour on the entire fitting. It is a typically Scandinavian detail: the rest is matt and restrained, and one warm, shiny element breaks the monochrome. In practice that means the fitting sits well with timber and brass handles in a kitchen, and against black tapware reads as deliberate contrast rather than accident. A disc, so light goes only downwards The flat shade, closed on top, directs all of the output downwards through the acrylic diffuser. Two things follow. First, the surface below is lit strongly and evenly, with no spill across the ceiling – this is an arrangement for a table or a kitchen island, not for a room's general lighting. Second, the acrylic diffuses the diodes far enough that looking up at the fitting you see no light points, only an evenly lit plane – on a pendant hanging at the eye level of people seated at a table, that is a condition of comfort rather than cosmetics. 2693 lumens from a permanently fitted module The light source is permanently integrated – there is no socket and no lamp to change. The module is 41 W and delivers 2693 lumens at 3000 K, which is around 66 lm/W. That is a lot of light: over a four-seat table this fitting is enough as the only source, and warm white at 3000 K keeps the mood closer to domestic than to office. An integrated module carries one significant purchasing consequence: at the end of the LEDs' life you do not change a bulb, you service or replace the fitting. In exchange, the manufacturer can optimise optics and heat management around that specific module, which is impossible with a replaceable lamp. Installation The fitting mounts on its canopy, supply 230 V, protection IP20 – dry interiors only. Net weight is 1 kg, so installation needs nothing beyond standard fixing. Over a table the disc hangs so that its lower edge sits about 75–85 cm above the surface.
