Asker 5227GR is a lantern on a three-metre post of painted aluminium profile in graphite, with a head measuring 24 × 48.5 cm. This is not a "beside the path" garden lamp but a fitting with road-lighting specifications: 2827 lm, DALI2 control and optics with a defined distribution. Ledil T2-L lens — light shaped like a road Instead of spreading light all round, Asker uses a Ledil T2-L lens, corresponding to IESNA type III. That is a distribution designed for linear runs: the flux forms an elongated, asymmetric rectangle along the axis of the road, with little reach behind. In practice it means that with posts spaced along a drive or a walk the pools of light join without dark gaps, while the light does not spill onto the neighbouring plot or into a building's windows. ULOR 0.84% — practically no light to the sky The maker gives an upward light output ratio of 0.84% and a BUG classification of B1-U2-G1. These are figures with legal and neighbourly weight: more and more municipalities limit light pollution, and a ULOR below 1% means practically all the flux goes where it should — downward. The G1 value in turn indicates low glare toward an observer. DALI2 — control, not just a switch The fitting supports the DALI2 protocol, that is digital lighting control. The maker notes that mounting accessories are bought separately and lists the matching items: mounting adapter (index 1259), ground anchor (180) and concreting anchor (3091); the post also fits a ready-made B 50 concrete foundation. That is a decision to take before the concrete is poured — the pins must be set at the correct spacing and level, because a three-metre structure shows any deviation from vertical mercilessly. CRI 70 — why lower than in a domestic fitting A colour rendering index of 70 is lower than the usual 80 of interior lighting, and that is deliberate: in road and area lighting the priority is efficacy — here as much as 145 lm/W for the complete luminaire — rather than colour fidelity, because at night the eye works in conditions where colour discrimination is limited anyway. SDCM5 consistency in turn means that across a run of a dozen lanterns small differences in the shade of white may occur between units — imperceptible in road lighting, but it is worth ordering the whole run from one delivery. Two-segment construction The post consists of two segments, which simplifies transporting and erecting a three-metre structure — there is no single long element to manoeuvre. Sealing is by a silicone gasket, and the fitting is closed on the outside by a sealed lens in clear PMMA. The operating range of −20 to +45 °C covers the climate with margin.
