LUND 2019 is a pole-top luminaire — a Norwegian garden lantern in Scandinavian idiom, fitted over a pole head 50 mm in diameter. This variant carries a copper-patina finish. Before ordering: the pole is not included This is the most important thing to know about the product. The fitting is not a complete lantern — it is its head. Norlys designs it for mounting on their own telescopic pole of 50 mm diameter, so a working installation also needs a pole, a foundation or anchor, and a supply cable run underground. Check the head diameter before buying: 50 mm is the Norlys standard, but not every garden pole on the market matches it. How it lights, and why that matters in a garden Norlys describes this model as giving uncovered light, partly covered from the top. The clear polycarbonate lens lets light out sideways while the cap sends most of the flux downward. The ULOR figure is 12% — that is how much light escapes above the horizontal. It is the number municipalities ask about for path lighting, and worth knowing if the lantern stands near bedroom windows or in an area covered by light-pollution rules. Materials made for a hard winter The body is hot-dip galvanised steel, with the powder coating applied on top of that. Those are two layers of protection, not one: even when the paint is chipped by a stone from a mower, the zinc beneath still keeps rust off the steel. The UV-stabilised polycarbonate lens does not yellow or grow brittle after a few seasons in the sun, unlike ordinary plastic. The −20 to +45 °C operating range covers Northern European conditions. Light source and servicing The holder is E27 and the source is user-replaceable — years later you change a lamp, not the whole lantern. Maximum power is 9 W LED; Norlys recommends Osram LED Parathom Classic E27 and Philips Master LEDbulb / Ledbulb Classic E27. The lens itself is available as a spare part under number 06240000, which saves the whole fitting if it is broken. The lantern is protection class II — no earth conductor required. Dimensions and intended use The fitting measures 43 × 32.5 × 35 cm and weighs 1.7 kg. IP55 means protection against dust and water jets — rain, snow and sprinklers are not a problem. The manufacturer intends the model for lighting gardens, parks and architectural schemes.
