Lillehammer DC2295 is an unassuming façade wall light with a very specific job: it throws a narrow, single-sided beam upwards at 4°, tracing a thin band of light across the wall. It is not there to light a garden or a path — it is there to pick out the texture of render, brick, timber or concrete and bring out a building's architecture after dark. All of the output is aimed upwards (ULOR 100%), so the fitting neither dazzles nor puts a pool of light on the ground. What 15 lumens means here The LED module inside generates 512 lumens, but only 15 lm leave the fitting through its narrow optical slit — the rest is held back by the optics that shape the beam. Hence the very low luminaire efficacy (4.2 lm/W) alongside a high light-source efficacy (142.2 lm/W). That is not a shortcoming but the price of precision: luminous intensity reaches 377 cd, so what appears on the wall is a crisp, high-contrast band rather than a soft glow. If you want a fitting for functional lighting this is the wrong model; if you want an architectural accent, it is exactly the right one. Power supply: mind the 24 V The luminaire runs on 24 V direct current and requires an external, voltage-stabilised power supply — it must never be wired directly to a 230 V circuit, which would destroy the LED module. That matches its protection class III (SELV, safety extra-low voltage), a genuine advantage in a garden: a low-voltage cable is far safer around water and planting than a mains circuit. Where it works It looks best where the wall has a texture worth showing: clinker brickwork, textured render, cladding boards, architectural concrete. A row at even spacing creates a rhythm of light bands that reads at night as part of the building's composition. The warm 2700 K light sits well with brick, timber and sandstone.
