This is a T-shaped connector for the single-circuit Lucide TRACK system. It lets you join three lengths of track at one point: two in a straight line and one running off at right angles. What it is for A plain track has two ends and one direction. The T-connector changes that fundamentally: wherever you insert it, the run branches. That lets a single circuit serve a T-shaped layout — a track down the length of a living room with a spur over the dining table, say, or a main run in a hallway with a branch turning into the kitchen. Because the supply is shared, every fitting across the whole layout works from one switch. That is an advantage when the track is meant to be one circuit, and a limitation if you want to control the branch separately. Important: this is an extension part, not a starter set The manufacturer states it outright — to use this item you must already own a TRACK starter set. The connector on its own includes no track, no power feed and no end caps. It belongs to the kind of system where you buy exactly as many parts as the planned route needs. It is compatible with the entire Lucide TRACK range — tracks, fittings, straight and corner connectors, end caps and feeds from the same series. Installation materials are included. How much the system will take It is worth knowing the limits a TRACK installation is designed within. The manufacturer states that a single layout can be extended to 400 metres of track, at 5 fittings per metre and a combined load of up to 3500 watts. No domestic installation comes near any of those — they are figures for shop and gallery use — but they show that a home layout with a dozen or two fittings sits inside them with enormous margin. Connecting track is work on a fixed installation; if you are not qualified, have an electrician fit it. The connector itself contains no electronics and does not affect dimming — if the track is fed through a dimmer, it works the same across the whole layout, including beyond the branch.
