The version with a hole — don't confuse it with the blank one This is the end cap with a hole, through which the LED strip's supply cable passes. A single length of profile normally needs two caps: one with a hole at the feed end and one blank at the far end. Ordering two blanks, or two with holes, is the commonest mistake when putting a profile together — count the ends before adding them to the basket. For the TEKKNI UHRE profile The cap fits the TEKKNI UHRE recessed profile — the one pressed into a routed groove in a worktop or the side of a cabinet, used to light work surfaces, cabinet interiors and display areas. Its shape reproduces the cross-section of that particular profile, so it is not a universal part: a cap from another system will either not go in or will not sit flush against the edge. Grey ABS for the silver profile The cap is moulded in grey ABS, matched to the silver (aluminium) versions of the UHRE profile. For the black version the manufacturer offers a counterpart under code 12-1832-01 — worth matching, because the cap is the only element visible on the end face of the profile, and a mismatched shade stands out more than the profile itself does. What end caps are actually for They do three jobs. Aesthetic: they close the open profile section, where the edge of the LED strip, the cable and the inside of the aluminium would otherwise show. Protective: they keep dust out and stop the strip being caught accidentally, which happens more often than you would expect when the profile is fitted inside a cabinet or under a worktop. Structural: they press the cover and the strip into place, steadying the assembly at the end of the run.
