ROTA is a ceiling light in the simplest possible form: a white disc 48 cm across, standing only 6 cm clear of the ceiling. A matt aluminium rim frames a broad acrylic diffuser that takes up almost the whole face of the fitting.A large lit surface rather than a point That the diffuser is nearly 48 cm across matters more here than the lumen figure itself. The same output from a small fitting makes a bright, glaring point and hard shadows; spread over an area the size of a dinner plate it becomes soft light with gentle shadows that you can look into without squinting. That is why fittings of this kind earn their place where people sit and look up — a bedroom, a hallway, a bathroom outside the shower zone.How much light, and for what size of room The integrated LED module draws 38 W and gives 2280 lumens at 3000 K. That is enough as the main light for a room of roughly 10–12 m² — a bedroom, a study, a hallway, a smaller kitchen. In a 25-square-metre living room ROTA will be one of several sources rather than the only one. Efficacy works out at around 60 lm/W, lower than a purely technical fitting — normal for a fully diffused luminaire, where some of the light stays in the cover.The 3000 K colour Warm white at 3000 K is warmer than a neutral 4000 K and closer to the light of a traditional incandescent lamp. It looks right against timber, render and warm wall colours, and less so where colours have to be judged accurately. The LED module is integrated and not replaceable — when its life ends the whole fitting is replaced.Installation The fitting mounts to the surface of the ceiling and needs a fixed 230 V connection. Six centimetres of depth is very little, so ROTA does not visually lower the room and suits a low ceiling. It weighs 1 kg.
